At the conference we had Activ8 Awards which were a first for the Care Inspectorate. The awards showcased and celebrated five of the many innovative and transformational stories which have really made a difference to people’s lives during the course of the CAPA programme.
Award 1 – Opportunities to move more (individual) – Parksprings Care Home, Motherwell
Parksprings Care Home won this award for demonstrating how good person-centred care helped resident Jane move back home.
Award 2 – Opportunities to move more (group) – Ochil Care Home, Perth
Ochil Care Home won this award for demonstrating how a new approach to group activity has increased their residents’ strength, mobility and wellbeing.
Award 3 – Culture and Team – Cordia Services (care at home), Glasgow
Cordia Services (care at home) won this award for demonstrating how their CAPA approach has influenced and improved outcomes for people receiving care at home.
Award 4 – Community Connections – Beechwood Care Home, Wishaw
Beechwood Care Home won this award for for demonstrating that partnership working with community groups has had a very positive impact on their resident’s lives.
Award 5 – Intergenerational – Dalmellington Care Centre, Ayr
Dalmellington Care Centre won this award for demonstrating how the young and the old can build good relationships and learn from each other.
